I think its to do with them getting tangled up that messes up the connection in the wires.
ive gone through several pairs of ipod headphones because after a while one side always becomes softer than the other and ruins the music.
I suggest you try a company called Ultimate Ear.
They are used by top studios etc.
I suggest a nice pair of Sony headphones. I've been using mine for about 2-3 years works great.
The Best headphones I've ever owned (and still own, just got them replaced)
are the new Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket. They are all metal and sound Fantastic!
You know what kind of headphones are the ****? Zune headphones. The sound quality is AMAZING.
If you have a buddy with a Zune that's under warranty, call up Microsoft and say I need new headphones. Give them the serial number on the Zune and the address and they'll be there in 2-3 days.
My Sennheiser CX500 Gaming Earphones are great!
Clear, crisp sound.
Its clarity is superb;I heard sounds I didn't hear from my other earphones.
