Red face What to do if I wash my phone? [URGENT]

Well it just came out the washing machine so yeah, it is in the airing cupboard drying out now. Does anyone know how long I should keep it in there for? I heard butting it in uncoocked rice works as it absorbs the moisture. Does this actually help?

It is insured, so it isn't that big a deal, but I would like it if my phone worked lol.

Don't try the rice thing.
Take it apart as much as you can (sim card out, battery out, etc) and leave all the peices in the airing cupboard for about a week.

Yeah it's doing that now. Looking at the sim card and memory card, the gold bits (I can't think of the correct word atm) seem fine. The wierd thing is my dream last night involved my phone breaking lol

Don't try to turn it on for a few days. Electronics won't break as long as went it was subjected to water it was not on, and the water didn't have salt in it. Wait until it is completely dry, and then try to turn it on.

Get a hair dryer and dry it in separate parts.

Yeah the thing is I was texting people and I normally don't turn my phone off so it would have been in the wash turned on, so that is where I thought it will work now or never. Well I needed it for today, which has now passed, so I tried it Sunday night and nothing...

Im glad that I had free insurance on it as it was new Luckily the memory card had all the pics and videos and my sim still worked Oh well.

Thanks for all the help though. Really appreciate it.

an easy answer to your question....
Dont Wash Your Phone!
Nah take each part and let them dry in open air for a day or two, no heat

My samsung cell got all wet in rain and a 2 day break was all I needed to get it right, so should yours.

Sim can be used as soon as it is dry.

You can drown a SIM in water, wipe it off, put it in your phone and it'll work.
