its got USB too
the first one requires external power
the second one is one that doesnt need external power, so its more portable. Its powered by USB

you need 2 usb's in the second one to power up completely with a hub or laptop.. that's a let down.. people tried it with one usb at the back usb ports (I/O ports) desktop computer not laptop, it worked because there is more power there. Didn't work with one usb with a laptop. Ill just get a flash drive for the portability. The external HDs are for backup.
