Help with new iPod.
I really need some help with this thing. I just went out and bought a 5G 30 gig video iPod, and I can't get my files to it. I'm running Windows ME, but I have a substitute program for iTunes called Anapod Explorer. The thing is, whenever I try to connect my iPod, it shows up as a removable drive, but Anapod says it can't connect to it. I've tried the reinitializer but it says that something else is using the E: drive so it cannot be formatted. If someone has any experience with Anapod or knows a better program, please contact me. Thanks to anyone that can help me.
Upgrade to a real operating system. WinME is pure crap.
Seriously, that's the ONLY long-term solution. I used Anapod Explorer as well when I was still on WinXP and it's a damn good program, but I don't know how the support for video is with it now. Also, check if something called "iPod Helper" is running in the background and kill it off (it's a process). Make sure iTunes is NOT auto-running when you plug in the iPod as well (kill that process off as well). I think iPod Helper auto-starts iTunes when the iPod is plugged in.
I plan on getting a new computer sometime soon, so it's not a real problem. I think I found a solution here though. Do you think that would work.
One question, in that guide he says:
"When the Updater finishes, it will tell you to unplug the iPod and plug it into the wall for a “firmware flash”, so use the AC adapter and FireWire Cable to plug your iPod into the wall. You now have a Windows iPod!"
The part that's in bold is bothering me. I don't have a wall charger, but I do have a Bose Sound Dock like this one. It charges the iPod as well as blasting the sound.
I was wondering if that would work in place of the wall charger mentioned in that guide.
