Portable Xbox this Christmas, says Seattle Times
Topic: Portable Gaming
First it was Bloomberg, and now the Seattle Times is going full-steam ahead with reportage on the as-yet unannounced portable media player. It's long been rumored that the WiFi-enabled device will be on shelves this holiday season, but the Times today has far more tantalizing details.
Apparently Microsoft is working on "a complete line of Xbox-branded digital-media products, including a device that plays media, a software media player and an online media service." At least part of the project has been given the code name Argo.
Even more intriguing: although the Times stops short of saying that the device will play games, they do say this: "But this is more than just another MP3 player. It will also compete with game players from Sony and Nintendo that have long had Wi-Fi and work as media players, Internet terminals and communication devices."
Whazzat mean, exactly? The Times notes that Microsoft will hold its annual shareholders meeting on July 27, so we may not have to wait that long to find out.
sorry if I posted in the wrong thread.
