Is there any good homebrew for the xbox? All I really have is like dvd2xbox and some emulators. Was there anything good developed for it when it was popular?

Linksxbox (web browser), Xbox Media Center (single best piece of homebrew ever made, hands down), Duke Nukem/Quake/Quake 2/Doom/Descent/Heretic ports, StepManiaX, .....

^^ i agree with freeplay because XBMC owns your soul,
you should also check out the emulators. there are tons and with the ported games like quake 2 you can play cross platform with pc too if you want to play with a friend.
i believe you can also install a form of linux but i've never tried so i'm not to sure on that.

I do have xbmc. That is my startup dashboard. It is pretty amazing.
