I recently saw a Gamecube at Gamestop for only 30 bucks!!! (used) and now I'm real tempted to go out and buy it and pick up a used Zelda master quest or whatever for another 30 bucks because OoT is teh best game ever created.

I know jack **** about this system, is buying a used one/used stuff for it a good idea?

Yeah it shouldnt be a problem. Does it look like its in good condition then go ahead and get it. (I dont think they sell "new" ones anymore.)
And for used games check for the obvious like scratches and what not. Other wise I think its good.
Over by me you still pay around 40 - 50 buck for a used gamecube, kinda a rip if you asked me.

I got a gamecube when they were running for about $100 or so, and I kinda regret it. The only games I have worth playing are Zelda(collection, wind waker, twilight princess) and Super Smash Brother Melee. If I were you, I would just wait and buy a wii, and the buy few good gamecube games.

Yeah just save for a wii.

The cube is a good system, but there isnt a reason to get one with the wii having perfect compatibility.

I still have mine from when it first came out...Just took care of it real good..Now my kid plays with it....lol.....
