Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories audio

my cousin's friend bought this game but kept having problems with the music....it sound like a cd skipping....the voice acting and sound effects went along just fine when the bg music just kept skipping.......

he exchanged the game for a new one and still had the same problem and then i offered my ps2 and there was no problem at all and we tryed to figure out why that could be but he had the info on the ps2 covered with a decal and in the blue area below the controller slots he had the usb slots along with a third hole.....i don't know what that is because mine doesn't have it....


why does the game work in mine but not his and what is the third hole for?

EDIT: forgot to say the skipping went away after a minute or two but after a while it came back and sometimes the music just went silent for a minute or two

The OST rules...its like the same good music but even better...i havent bought the game but im playing kh:chain of memories for gba
