Ah, well in another post, I got to thinking about this game and was all because it was one of the FIRST games I played using a Model 1 Sega cd!
I dont know what to say really.. it blew me away when I played it... why? Well 1st, this WAS a PC game, however ONLY the sega cd version had one thing the PC version didnt. SPEECH! Real voices and NOT just text!
This adventure of a boy who tries to struggle past school, home, a report card as well as a conspiracy to to get his dad in trouble that Willy must prevent.
You get actors who look like "Ted Koppel" from ABC News doing the news in the game.
One scene I think most guys would love is the part in the bathroom.. when you see your sister in the bath and you startle her with that lovable pet from named "Horny" lol. Just to blackmail her. ^_^
Man this game was HARD! So many choices and if you were a bad kid... your "trouble" meter went up and if it went too high, its off to military camp for you and the game is over!
So No.. you may NOT push harder when you are swinging your sister on your backdoor swingset.. Also dont lie about the pain in your stomach too long or its game over as well! Lol.
The game itself had ALOT of detail and if you liked games like Monkey Isle or things like that, this wasnt as complex but it was hard enough.
I know.. when I 1st had this game, before gamefaqs or anything, I was STUCK! That stupid babysitter... ARG, Man who knew you needed to use the HAIRSPRAY to slow her before you used the vacuum! ARG! I played for ages on Sega CD before I gave up.. was not till when GENS for the PC came out that I actually went back to it and tried again getting MUCH farther.. issue is.. I blew it again.. My frog keeps getting disqualified for either "steriod" use or something similar. Sigh.. so gotta start over again since I didnt have a fail safe save like I normally do.
Also 2 fun things that kept me busy for awhile was this Space shooter mini game on "Nintari" that you had to play to win some contest. Was QUITE addicting!
Also in the attic was a train set.. that YES you could wreck the 2 seperate trains if you let the tracks cross over. ^_^v But your trouble meter would go up if they did. This thing reminds me of Addams Family when Gomez was playing with the trains and had people inside lol. Laughing.
Your dead grandfathers spirit is like the little voice in your head in the game, either warns you or so. So was a neat touch, also being able to explore everything in the game almost with a guide to tell you what each item was or about, and since it was talking to you with speech, was nice indeed.
This game alone was very fun, full of action, mini games, talking to people, etc and just very fun to play indeed.
Anyways, being one of the 1st Sega cd games out, this was definatly better then alot of others out there...
If you like these type of games where choices matter and you gotta pickup, trade use items, this game is for you if you love the old stuff and least it talks! =D :Jump:
