OK, so I decided to softmod my xbox by installing linux, not too bad, so first my ftp thing does not work at all, so I go onto xbox linux.com or whatever and it says once your xbox is softmodded, xbox live is disabled. so now how do I restore Linux and will I ever be able to play xbox live again?

SIGH you shouldn't of installed linux my friend, you should've just softmodded it the way i did and as of now all i know is that i'm pretty sure it's Irreversible.

you could've installed linux if you just softmodded it the normal way. and kept xbox live

yes but how? I didnt install linux I installed unleash X ( I bet thats linux or something) and I installed a soft mod.

did you install the duel boot method? if not you've lost XBL as far as i know

well, it broke

any way the disc drive fried and almost melted halo 2... Like literally, when it sayed the disc couldnt be read i opened it and halo 2 had steam coming out of it, no joke. So im getting a new one in a week from eb games.

But how do I do the dual boot method, is there a tut you can give or show me? I have never heard this method yet.

You just have to be good at reading directions.

well softmodding the xboxis pretty easy though, its just that I missed a step that I wasnt supposed todo. but its like installing devhook for the psp, it takes while to learn but once you do it, its pretty easy after all.

i've seen alot of xbox mod videos on youtube but none of them actuall show someone softmodding an xbox , so what i'm gonna do is ,I'm gonna borrow my friends xbox and softmod it on video so people who want to know how to do when softmodding can know.
