it won't let me open my "add/remove programs" or my "screens and graphics" along with many other programs.

what's the deal?
i restarted.
any help would be awesome

Looks like you ****ed something up,I cant really help you much from here...

All I can say is back up your data and format and reinstall ubuntu...

It always better to do a little fresh install when a major update to your os comes out..

burn them to a disk or copy them to a external hard drive. i can't remember but install disk may have a option to keep certain files. also there may be a backup option in ubuntu and im looking right now but i'm not seeing one (i may be blind though.)

i'm actually getting an external hd tomorrow
but if i re-install, will it delete everything, or is it just as a precaution, i'm gunna back-up anyway, but just wondering.
also, is it possible to just install 7.04 from 7.10.

before you go through the long process of backing up check and see if the disc does have a save files function.
