I'm trying to install the GTK+ libraries on Fedora 9. I downloaded the latest versions of GTK+ (2.14) and GLib (2.18). I installed GLib using the proper methods by running "./configure" followed by "make" and "make install". However, when I run "./configure --prefix=/opt/gtk" for GTK+, it still reports that GLib is less than version 2.17 and cannot continue. Is there something I missed?
btw I ran ./configure and make for GLib as a normal user before realizing it, but since I didn't seem to run into any issues, I continued and ran make install as a root user.
