Default My pc is screwed.

So, I shut down my pc last night, and go to boot it up this morning with this error.

Code:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.
So anyway, I've tryed most things. Startup with last known good configuration, Safe mode yada yada.

I have the Windows XP installation discs, so that might help.

If anyone can help me, I'd love them.

You use your Windows XP Installation disk.

You press F12 when your PC boots up and then change the primary device to boot as the CD/DVD Drive, then the Windows XP disk will load. Choose repair or reinstall the OS and your away.

Boot from the installation cd and do a fresh install of Windows if repairing doesn't work.

Just but the disk you have for windows eith XP or Media or Whatever you have.
Restart your PC (from the button that you turn it on from) Contuinsly press F8 and you should get a boot screen. Choose your the boot option as in which your XP cd is in. And just follow the on screen Instructions

Right.

I've put in my Windows XP + Service Pack 1 disc into the drive, and re-booted.

It doesn't say anthing about loading from disc or anything. I tryed changing the CD-ROM to the primary master, that doesn't do anything.

All this leads back to the:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\ SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

Some PC's also make you hold it down.
Mine does.

Some PCs also use other keys, although F8 is generally the standard. If F8 doesn't seem to be working, go to your manufacturer's site online and look up your BIOS.
