Default Soon buying 8800GTX and was wondering

I need an aswer for my question from this outstanding community!!!
The PC I have now:
I built myself with dual 19" LCD's, Liquid-Cooled AMD 3400+ 64 bit, 939 pin config in order to eventually swap it out for the 64FX x2 5000+ dualy core, also have 2gigs of ram, 2 x 6600gt SLI config w/ 500 watt power supply..my question is:

Will I need to upgrade my power supply in order to install 8800GTX???

The minimum they recommend is 450W but I'd upgrade just to be safe.
Also you may want to wait a while and see ATIs offering and nVidias next wave of DX10 cards.

i really wouldnt update for a good 4 or 5 months, until the dx10 cards have propperly settled and the real power behind them starts to show, the rig you have now shouldnt have much of a problem with most games out right now anyway.
if you bought an upgrade for cards right now you'd only find yourself running behind the latest when all the companies start churning out the dx10's

since your system is based on 939 i would just suggest upgrading your processor right now, to an FX60, it would give far more of a boost in speed than replacing your sli config with a single 8800gtx on that same 3400+.

your're probably right nevada..I see the AMD left the multiplier unlocked on the 64FX-60 X2 so it's much easier at overclocking. Did I read some where AMD was discontinuing a few of their processor lines?

I found a few stores I can buy for $450 but still shouldn't take long(6months?) for price to drop further.

Why invest so much money in dead technology?

If you were on a budget, then I would understand putting money into buying a socket 939 processor but the fact is you are going to have to upgrade sooner or later and you might as well do it sooner and save money in the long run.

Plug in all your components and if they are overclocked or not in this link.

It will show you how much power is required for your rig.

It will take ATI quite awhile to take down the 8800GTX
