1. Ads.

2. It is filled with crap I will never use. " Would you like to shop from WLM???" NO DAMNIT.

3. Resource hog compared to Gaim.

4. Non-customizable outside of 'window tint'.

Even if you don't use other protocols, WLM is still a clearly inferior choice for your MSNing.

1. Don't see them. I log on and close it to the taskbar.
2. See 1
3. Never noticed anything. Firefox uses the most memory on my PC and Folding uses most CPU. If WLM actually effects your performance then its time to get more than 128MB of RAM.
4. Customisable backgrounds, plugins (messenger plus, messenger discovery live), scripts (via messenger plus), display pics, titles, emoticons suits me fine. I can't think of anything more that I would need to customise.

I still don't see any reason someone should use it, just a bunch of "its not that bad of a downside"s.

I don't see any reasons why someone wouldn't use it unless they have multiple accounts and want to log into them all at once.

You haven't given any reason why anything is better tho? Except maybe ads but really they mean nothing when you don't see them.

I actually think WLM is very good and yes I have used other clients, not all of them admittedly but I've used Trillian and pidgin and didn't like them in the slightest so I went back to WLM. It works and is simple so I stick with it.

MS software has gotten a lot better in the past few years. WMP11, WLM and Office are now some of the best programs I have installed now. itunes still pwns WMP for audio but with the ease of adding codecs WMP is perfect for video.

I agree with everything you've said here except for the Office part. Having used office 07 i hate it and installed 2003 on my computer. I think it's because i'm a bit of a minimalist. I want Word to just be word, along with the ability to change justification, font and insert pictures without haveing to click a tab to do them!

Ha, i agree with phil.
www.mess.be < All mods to change the looks and also add whole new features. And ads are nothing that the mess patch can get rid of, it will rid them in a matter of seconds.

And before you say, i bet you have never used AIM or the others, i have and they were extremely lacking compared to WLM, i have a friend who was astonished by the amount of features of WLM, compared to another leading brand of software.

Ads?

Have you even looked at AIM?

****ing ads everywhere!

I use WLM Plus and Trillian for AIM.
