I think:

All graphics cards can be replaced (as in taken out and a new one put in)
The one that is put it may be the same as the one that was already there (due to a fault etc). It's just there may not be a better version of your graphics card.

If you find one that is the same make, like how it fits in with what pins and the size of it, then all you need to do is replace the old one.

GPU's are relatively easy to install on a PC, so I should think it would be the same-ish.

Oh right :P

Do you know if your graphics card is integrated? If it is there is a large chance that upgrading will not be possible.

Oh well then gimme the model and I'll see if I can find out.

If it is you can buy a docking station which has spare PCI slots etc.

Looks like its intergrated, so I doubt it will have spare PCI / AGP slots. Try looking around for a docking station for your model (costs quite a bit in expereience )

Yes they are, as I said in my previous post. He is better off buying a new laptop that can be upgraded IMO. But of course he may not have the money.
