I have been waiting with no mouse for one and a half days for a good answer. And look what you give me. A dodgy first link and something for windows ME.

Thank you for trying to help though ...

One of two pretty simple options:

1) Get a new OS
2) Get a PS2 mouse, or at least a USB-PS2 connector. Windows 98 does not work well with USB devices of any kind.

I thought you already have Windows ME on your HP "24-bit" computer.

Why not use that one.
