Hey - I've asked many questions regarding hardware in and out of my own thread as off topic discussion. I still have questions left and don't want to continue going off topic, so I hope creating a thread like this will contain it (along with any one elses questions) :o
Ok, I have a few questions to start off with.
I want to get a better graphics card, in exchange for worse motherboard.
I want the prices to equal out (take $20 off the mobo and put it towards the video card for example). My intentions are to play modern games decently (not 30 FPS on lowest settings or anything, more like medium-high settings 50-60 fps, some games are LOTRO, Diablo 3 (when it comes out) and a few first person shooters). I don't plan on SLI'ing but if I can get better graphical performance by using 2 cards that equal my current video cards price, Ill definitely do it.
I'm searching but I'm not coming up with anything I can't seem to compare 2 graphics cards side by side, I can only go off their price and their version/series and this, to me, is a horrible way to go by
My second question, there's 3 ways for a HD to connect with the mobo (?); IDE, Sata and Serial port (i think thats what it's called). How would you rank the 3 in terms of speed and price? My current HD is THIS and I was wondering if for the smae price and capacity I could get it faster?
My third question is whether or not I could get a better processor for a reasonable price increase. My current one is THIS and from the reviews, it can overclock to 3.0 ghz on the stock fan just fine.
Thanks for your help :o Ill have alot more questions I'm sure as I'm just getting into this whole world
