This is a discussion on Vista Memory leak! within the Everything Windows forums, part of the General PC Forums category; Ok, so i just recently fixed a memory leak in firefox, and now i want to see is i have ...
It's not a leak. It's just Microsoft's way of helping all DRAM companies out. IE7 behaves differently in Vista than it does in XP. Whereas XP gets an IE7 with its balls cut off, the Vista one is left in tact.
It's just a part of IE7. It's not a memory leak. Don't get your pants wet about it. With computers now having 1.5GB-2GB of RAM nowadays, what's the worry?
Are you talking about explorer.exe or iexplorer.exe?
Explorer is essentially the Windows GUI.
IExplorer is, well, Internet Explorer.
The most my explorer.exe has ever gone up is 60,000 k, and I'm on Vista Ultimate.
I don't use IE very much, but I've seen it go as high as 150,000k before, usually when I'm using multiple tabs though.
The first screenshot shows explorer.exe at 92mb, not iexplore.
One thing I'm curious about, it looks like there are two seperate explorer processes running, and ones under a different account.
Care to clear this up?
