Default Which laptop to choose?
My father just bought this. Hes offering to give it to me for my old laptop(this one) plus $400.

I really love my toshiba but the graphics card sucks and a 120gb harddrive just doesn't cut it when each episode of Lost I record in HD is 3.2gb =/

The sony is alot better specs wise but the graphics card is whats really holding me back. Think with a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 358MB video memory graphics I could run games like Shadowrun or Halo 2 at playable speeds? I don't really want to play these games(since I can on my 360) but I want to be able to do some gaming.

Which do you guys recommend?

I was gonna get the one your dad got.
You should take the one your dad got.
Also has more ram than yours, and more Disk drive.

Also, if you want something improved with your computer just use the $400 bucks.

Well, i'd do that. Dont be so bitc*y about Sony products, you know some of em are good.

The only thing the Toshibas have over Sony are the speakers.
Some Sony laptops are really quiet, compared to other laptops.

Ya thats the one I really want, the one with a good graphics card not a crappy integrated one. Looking at the system requirements for Shadowrun and Halo 2 looks like I wont be running any games for windows games =/ But I cant be too picky I guess. It looks so sexy.

The Sony can run Halo 2 but not Shadowrun. The requirements for shadowrun are insane glad I got the 360 version already. Now time for the longest part bring all my crap off my toshiba to the Sony =/

I dont know if it'll work on vista though...

Wikipedia is sometimes hand in hand with Google...

The only major "disadvantage" is the sound...It wont really make much of a difference. Well, you bought it anyways, might as well go the whole mile, right?

It shouldnt be a bad choice, though. Just, are you sure this will work with Vista? [I didnt really look into it that much...]
