Exclamation Speed up Torrent downloads

I've been ALL OVER THE INTERNET, looking for ways to speed torrent downloads up. None have i actually ever completed cause there all to hard! For example I have zonealarm for vista (free) and there is no option for port forwarding (that i see)! My torrents that i download are only maxing out at 20 kbs on average. I need Extreme Help! A extreme tutorial will be great!

B.t.w. I run Zonealarm firewall

Its essential to forward a port, keep checking your zone alarm or Google it there should be a way to get it done and make sure your Windows firewall is off.

Type this into your browser:
http://192.168.1.1/
Then enter your username/PW or let the admin do that.
Now go to something allong the lines of "forward".
and add the port you are downloading with in azureus.

Can't make it any easyer.

Jesus christ! Port forwarding fricken rocks!

I had a 2.13gb file downlaoding at around 30kbs, then made a static IP and port forwarded Utorrent and walla, instantly almost, it jumped up to 100kbs, bursting up to 130kbs. I love this

Well, my max speed has been around 205kbps, but as Kyle said, HTTP downloads are superior. When I downloaded MGS: PO (Over 1GB) on Firefox, it was going at 275kbps. If you didn't have to pay for Usenet, I'd get rid of uTorrent.
