to upgrade for no real benefit?
if you like how vista looks, you can make xp look the same
directx10? gamers and developers dont support it and there are few gfx cards that support it too.
why relearn a whole OS and bend over backwards for no real gain. i say no and im staying on xp or osx

vista at the moment is a pretty stable operating system once u change a few things in the settings and such, but honestly it gives you no much more than you would get from xp. sure it has a couple very cool new features like the instant search, and it looks alot nicer, but i mean u can live without it easily. IMO if u want a faster computer that run much smoother, and overall just as efficient if not more, stick to xp. Bust as a said, vista atm is a pretty stable os, if you would like ot upgrade to it, you wouldnt be sad.

I used to have my XP look like vista, but then I actually upgraded, and the real vista bit better.
Its mainly eye candy, but I enjoy it better than XP
I also have my system multibooted with XP just in case of any incompatiblilites

Btw, Im using Ultimate but I dont have a graphics card, so Im only getting 2/10 of the features Vista has, but I still like it better than XP

but as said above, if its your hard earned money, or your tight for cash, its not needed

Off topic: Is anything at risk if you make a pc dual boot compatible?

All it did was suck battery life from my laptop with unnecessary add-ons. Aero, for example. From what I have seen it is the EXACT same as XP. I have dualbooted Vista as well as a XP and ended up formatting my computer afterwards. It's stupid. All it is good for is security, making your computer run slower, and that's about it...
Upgrade if you have a powerful computer... if not, don't.

DO NOT go to Vista until service pack 1 comes out at least. I already upgraded, and had so many problems I formatted my disk and reinstalled XP.

Of course.

I haven't had one single problem with Vista yet, so I think you should get it.
