Default Hardware Problems.. help!

Hello,
A few months ago i built myself a new gaming rig which consists of Asus Gforce EN8800GTS, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz, Asus P5N32-E SLI and 2x 1GB OCZ DDR2 Platinum memory.
It was all fine and dandy until 1 day Rainbow Six Vegas starting lagging at a lot of areas, areas where i used to get 60fps, i now got 12 and I couldn't overclock my videocard anymore. I tired everything i could think of, i formated my computer number of times, tired different drivers, tried physically cleaning up my computer and different things in bios... finally i gave up. Other games work fine, so i just stopped playing Vegas.
Today i installed the Enemy Territory - Quake Wars demo, and to my surprise i was getting extremely low FPS everywhere in the game, including when i lower the graphics significantly, same problem i had the Vegas. Might this be an Unreal Engine problem?

I don't know what else i can do, is it worth taking my rig for repair?

please help.

Roman.
