Well, basically I need a copy of Windows XP, but the PC that has the CD burner on it doesn't stay on long enough for it to burn the image to the disk and the PC I have doesn't have a burner, I don't have any money to buy an OS, and none of my friends even know how to download or burn stuff. What can I do?

Thanks! I only need an OS so I can download XP, burn it onto a disk, then install that. Does uTorrent work and what would be the best image burner to download, or could I mount the XP image with Daemon Tools and install it that way?

No uTorrent doesn't work but there are alternative torrent clients for ubuntu.

You can't mount it with Daemon Tools.

I'd ideally need an XP CD, but my PC hasn't got a CD burner and I haven't got no money to buy it. I don't know what to do.

Don't know how to install them, and it wouldn't be worth buying one, when I'm getting a PC for christmas with a DVD burner, but it needs an OS, which is why I need a CD burner or an XP disk.

no effing joke i installed my first cd drive when i was like 5, it is probably one of the easiest things u can do. Open up ur case, remove old cd driver (if there space) make sure to take out all the wries from the back of the old cd drive but not out of the computer mobo, remember the spots they went into (3 cables at most) and then place new cd drive that u bought for like 10 usd, and place all the cables back, turn on computer it will auto detect it and the cd drive will work.

imo its more of a learning experience than being nerdy, my parents always encourages me to do everything myself, they bought me the cd drive, i think it was juts a normal cd drive at the time cause burners cost too much, and i put it in.

Just ask a friend can you use his computer for a while and burn it there???
