OK, I just brought my new laptop with Vista (

) pre-installed and now i'm going about modifying Vista a little bit, but the problem is it won't let me copy stuff to the System32 folder, this is stupid, it's my laptop so I should have rights on the account to copy to the system32 folder.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this or a way around it?

Try the Safe Mode Admin account.

I'd just download another vista copy and format your laptop, reinstall a better version of vista.
Btw: The admin on safe mode will work probably.

you could also enable the true admin account via command prompt.

If you want to do that ask savagefreak. Or try find the thread posted here a while ago.

Done everything you guys said, and the command prompt way, I'm on the bloody administrator account now and it's STILL NOT letting me copy it, I f*cking hate Vista so bad now!!!

Is there folder security on it? Right click>Properties>Security ?

It won't let me change the security priveledges either! This is madness, how can an OS be so ****ing stupid!?!

There must be some way to simply copy a file to the goddamn system32 folder!!

If I were you, I'd install XP. Get rid of Vista.

Yep I used the command prompt activation way... and Vista's still acting like a *******

well thats really wierd. Meh i have vista. I installed media center edition XP and could not be happier. I got rid of the bootmenu and just use this. Though i still leave vista there just in case i ever feel the need to go back.

But I like Vista because it generally looks better graphically.

It must be possible because people are hosting modded .dll packs to be installed on Vista, so there must be a fricking way?!
