Default Audio help please.

Hi. I've recently reformatted my computer and ever since that day when i try to play audio files it gets all distorted for about 2 seconds and every like 15 seconds that happens. And yes, I have installed all of the drivers. They are all working fine according to device manager. I don't know what to do. It's really bugging me because I'm a real music fan. It's not only itunes and limewire, but general computer sounds such as the Windows boot up sound.

Any ideas or advice?

This happened to me...you just hear white noise right?

This is a soundcard problem...or was for me. But drivers might fix this...restart your computer?

(what I ment was distorted looping noise)
Its a hardware problem, does the noise occur from all the audio outputs? (including the one for the headphones)

Its either the soundcard or the connection/connecting wire...

id make sure all ur ports are tightly connected, if that is not the case buy a new sound card. They are very cheap at any store.

Everything is tightly connected.
I don't want to waste money on a new sound card...I can live with listening to music on my ipod and psp for about 3 months...( I get a new computer in 3 months )
