i got a Compaq presario and the guy who gave it to me said it just crashed.

2.00ghz AMD Sempron
512 ram

when i first got it it started up to the comp logo screen and then just restarted.

i reinstalled windows xp twice and it still just tries to boot up but then it restarts.

i tried the hdd on my house comp and it worked fine.

Hardware problem, most likely.

reset CMOS?
clean out the dust?

Yep,My best it the gfx card it may have burned out...If not then it can be the ram or something else it kinda hard to tell when I cant see the pc...

Try putting your HDD into his computer and see if it boots up...

HHD works on my other comp

i dont know (how do you find out?)

yes it is set as master
