I'm in desperate need of help this has just happened recently after having this computer for about 1 year now Everytime im on the computer out of the blue it will just shut off without warning NO blue screen of death or anything, it just shuts off and when you try to turn it back on the computer starts up but nothing appears on the monitor so you have to wait for about 5 mins then turn it on and then everything works but as your going along for about 30 mins it will do it again, im not running any major programs, only aim, and msn... what's wrong with my computer..

Compaq Presario sr2050nx
1gb of ram
2.8ghz
and 238gb of HD

and i'm only running 20 processes and all the processes are under 10,000... can anyone tell me whats wrong my inter cooler is working, and so is my fan i even have the side of the comp off... I really need help much appreciated thanks.

And this has only happened recently never has this happened before.. I've tried reformmatting, and switching OS's even to LINUX UBUNTU still happens on all of them

pleaseee help.

Sounds like a virus, this once happened to me, I had to reinstall XP, you could try safe mode and running a virus/spyware scan.
