I at one stage installed Linux on my PC and partitioned my hard drive to support it, leaving around 20gb for Linux. I have since returned to XP full-time but I can't seem to resize my partition to the full hard drive using GpartEd on the Ubuntu liveCD. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

If that doesn't work I would suggest the Gparted Live Cd/Usb, http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org if you want to check it out.

Eranmane, delete the old Linux partition (make sure you have uninstalled Linux correctly. As in put the Windows CD in and Repair>FixMBR) Then resize your wanted partition to the full extent and then click Apply in the bottom left corner.

As has been said multiple times now, gparted now does support resizing NTFS partitions. Check the features page for more details. Older versions won't however, because a few years ago NTFS couldn't be written to from Linux. You have to remove the Linux partition first though

Why would "obtain" be in quotes if he meant that he was going to buy it?
Also, gparted. I've once had a problem where it crashed in the middle of performing operations, but the disk still turned out fine when I reran the application.
