^^^if thats gonna be a gaming system... i think a 450w should run everything fine...just make sure its a quality psu and not some crap. Im not familiar with amd cpu's or sockets so i can't be of any more assistance.

I'm sure he really appreciates that comment Mr Know it all.

Anyway, to the thread creator I would switch that processor to an Intel dual core. They have a better performance. Ensure that the motherboard that you choose is LGA775.

if he is in fact getting a core 2 duo...he should wait till intel launches the new dual cores and quad cores.

amd might be cheap and 3.0ghz, but its crap atm. 700 USD for a mobo, video card, and cpu?

if so here: cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115030
video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121099
mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131142

$565 without tax and shipping...You can always go for more like instead of the 8800GT go with the new g92 based 8800GTS 512, or maybe go quad...

ohhh, i'll fix things around.
-= Double Post =-
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188017-Great price, great performance, very reliable.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115030-great at clocked speeds, and even better when u oc it.

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145034-fast and cheap

Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130290-ok i guess...

Case; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156062-nice case, sturdy, and comes with a 500w psu!

HDD: Left some room in the budget for u too pick this, since i don't know what size you're looking for, etc...make sure u get a sata drive tho.

Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136120

so $612 w/o the hard drive, leaves some room for a decent sized one at least. Price goes even further down when u count the rebates. And the case comes with a 500w psu. Now i know that psu's that come with cases aren't always the greatest, but this one is pretty good. I own this case and psu and the psu hasn't let me down so far, i've had it for around 4 months now.
