Default Help With building Computer

My computer got messed up, and instead of making a trip to best buy, I decided to build my own. I am trying to build my first computer, although I am not a noob, im still no expert, but so far its not going to good. I am having a very hard time choosing the parts, and was hoping someone could help me.

So far this is what I can come up with, feel free to make changes.

Processor - It has to be this processor

Case - I really like this case, but it can go if I have to

I really dont know what kind of Motherboard

I also need some decent ram,

Now I Have a budget of about 600 for now, because I need this computer pretty quick, but when I get a few more paychecks, it will go up. Right now im not planning to get a video card, because im not going to use it to play games (for now) so I was thinking about a MOBO with integrated video, then buying a badass one later. I am going to overclock it, but maybe only to about 3 Ghz, and not until I get more money to buy some better cooling, so any input is helpful.

By the way, I am going to be doing heavy encoding, so please do not recommend a different processor I have my eyes on that one.

*UPDATE*
So far this is what im getting.

Processor

Case

MotherBoard

Ram

OS

Any input will be very Helpful

Mobo's that come with integrated gfx suckass. Most good motherboards don't have integrated gfx, but u can find pretty cheap video cards that should suit ur needs. ehhhh, $600 is a really tight budget to fit a Q6600...

Thanks, but like I said, Im not doing something that requires a graphics card (for now) Im using my sisters computer, so I need one pretty soon, so an integrated one is perfect right now.

ur kidding? $450 for a Q6600, good memory, and other components...sounds like mission impossible. The cpu already takes more than half the budget. You cannot absolutely wait? maybe u have some spare hard drives or optical drives to use and save money?

memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145034

Motherboard:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188017-cheap, relible, and supports current quad cores.

Yeah I should probably mention that I have a good 80 gig harddrive, which is not much, but I have a 1 Terabyte Networked Harddrive so I dont need a big one.

My Monitor still works, so I got that covered,

and I dont need any Drives.

Here's what u should go with:

Motherboard: this-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188017 or this-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131142...second one is more expensive, but it has SLI, which i doubt u would use.

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146560-1GB will get u started, and u can always go from there.

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156062-comes with the psu, so ur good.

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130025-go with this one. its complete crap for gaming, but since you will be upgrading later it doesn't really matter. And if u run vista it can support aero i think.

If you have a choice between Vista or XP, go with XP.

I've heard that 2 gigs is the "sweet spot" for vista.
I agree with Frenchy, go with XP since you don't game on this computer.

why are you getting a Q6600 when your budget is only $600?
you should instead get an e4500 or a little higher up, a e6550

I have my eyes set on that one. And its not that im broke, its that I need a computer right now. Mine broke, and im mooching off of my sisters laptop. I need one that runs for now, and later ill buy better parts for it, its just that this is all I can afford until I start work again (Im on unpaid vacation) so I wont get a paycheck until 3 weeks from now. (i sold my laptop for 400, and I have a few hundred more, thats why my budget has to be 600)

Oh and ive been running vista for like 4 months now, I tried going back to xp, but I got used to vista. Im one of those people that has no complaints about it. Its perfect for me, but just in case I am going to dual boot xp on it.

I got a question, whats the difference between the first board and the second one? What do you mean by SLI? I know I have alot of questions, but I want to do this right. Thanks

Don't get either of those
If you dont use it for SLI, the chipset is bad
If you DO use it for SLI, those boards still suck

SLI is having a dual graphics card setup

Crazy getting a Q6600 on that budget. Just get a E2180 and clock the tits out of it.

You'll get 3Ghz easy.

No. Is the PC going to be hooked up via a HDTV?

I was hoping I could do it with that budget, I have everything else like hard drive, optical drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers. All I need is the main components like cpu, psu, motherboard,Case, and ram. I saw that windows is $110 so my budget just rose 40 dollars, but this is temporary until I get a few paychecks. Its just that my computer busted at the most inconvenient time.

I have been wanting to build my computer for a while, and this is my chance. I thought about going to walmart to get a budget pc but I thought this would be better.

in all $500 there is really no way to go any cheaper imo. i really don't know anything about onboard video, except that it sucks.
Onboard video would be a way cheaper option than what you specified, and the video card isnt even worth that much money. Might as well get something better or not at all.

no, you can just connect a DVI to HDMI adapter if you get a newer graphics card

There, saved you $150 which you can put to a better gfx card
