Whenever I restart my computer and it reaches the desktop, it always loads for 5secs then freezes the whole computer. Why is that?

And I know its not a virus

Does it happen when you boot up in safe mode?

Also, wrong forum, I'd imagine. I'd think this would go into one of the PC forums.

Maybe too many startup programs trying to run?

Have you ever defragmented your computer ?

No i haven't defraged my computer, and yes it goes into safe mode.

Lol, i know it is the wrong forum too, i just figured i would get help quicker in Off-topic.

So, you mean that it boots fully in safe mode? Okay, then the problem is either a startup program or service. It's quite possible that it's trying to load a faulty driver in the process.

In msconfig should i just do Diagnostic Startup (loading just basic devices and services)?

...hmm, I really don't know how to troubleshoot this remotely :/

, i'm gonna try to reboot it now to see what will happen.

I hope i can fix this because i'm tired of having to do a system restore for it to work.
