Default Drivers and how to get 85 hertz.

When I have a lower resolution then 1600x1200 I can have 85 hertz but when it is at 1600x1200 I max out at 75 hertz. I'm not sure how much my monitor can do without nvidia but is there a way to get it to do 85 hertz?

EDIT:
Ok I installed my monitor's driver which I don't think did anything other then give me the option of 120 hertz but I cannot select that either.

While I'm here I'm going to ask what the difference between a video card and a graphics card is. I installed my video card. But I cannot find a vista driver for my graphics card (XFX).

What do you need 85 hertz for?
