Quite randomly my Laptop, a DELL INSPIRON E1505 (1GB RAM, 1.83 GHZ Duo Core CPU, 256 MB dedicated ATI VRAM) has been freezing and bringing me to a blue screen that says the following:
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
***The system has been halted***
Then I have to push down the power button to perform a hard reset. This can occur twice in 10 minutes or once a week but it is completely random and I can never predict when the laptop will turn off. It's especially annoying to have to save every 10 seconds when typing something in case of accidental shutdown. Does anyone know what "Memory Parity Error" or "NMI" or "Parity check" means?
My warranty is up (it was only a 1 year limited warranty) So calling Dell would not help (Besides them telling me to buy so-and-so or a new laptop entirely)
