so i got a new mobo processor and ram and i don't want to format my hard drive so i can use the new stuff i got i was wondering if there was anyway to make my mobo work with windows xp.
i got a foxconn board a celeron d 3.33 Ghz and 1 gig of ram. |

ok well i configured it to boot from the hard drive and when it gets past the foxconn loading screen i can see a dim windows xp loading screen for about a second than it restarts the computer.

If your replacing that much stuff then you really should reinstall windows.
As windows will get massively confused and give you lots of errors. Your last post: hit F8 as soon as windows starts booting, enter safe mode, uninstall the old mobo drivers and reinstall the new ones. About it not working now change back what ever you changed between the two posts

What you should have done is uninstall ALL drivers while still on the old motherboard. Then replace the motherboard and install all your drivers again. It's not guaranteed to work but it is the only way that stands a chance of working.
As for your current problem with getting the motherboard to start up try resetting the CMOS (check your motherboards instruction manual for instructions). |
