Spybot S&D and TeaTimer

quirkey little problem here

I got a few startup items I want to remove (some nvidia crap,software for my laptop touchpad,etc etc),and I know how to use msconfig and Spybot to disable them.

The problem is,is that Teatimer wont let me disable them...even if I use Spybot S&D.

Dont ya think they woulda made it so you can use Spybot to change the settings and let it bypass Teatimer?

I like using Teatimer tho,it helps to keep the registry secure.

I need to try closing teatimer and making changes,but I feel it prolly wont work seeing as it has a saved 'list' of stuff your 'not suposed to change' in the registry.

I uninstalled SpyBot completely because it's horrendous. On Vista, it logs a system event every 5 seconds or so. It was a few months before I realized this, and as time went on my system began to lag more and more, bit by bit, since it was loading a >200MB log file every 5 seconds just to add an entry.

When I had it I was forced into getting rid of TeaTimer, it really annoyed me.

Anyway, maybe CCleaner might be able to remove the entry's for you.

I had a similar issue.
If you unistall Spybot S&D and then reinstall it but without the teatimer (a POS addon/feature IMO).

You will have spybot without the teatimer :-P.

Also try going into administrative tools and services.

I just disabled teatimer in Spybot (you can do that without reinstalling )

I dont run Spybot at startup,I only use it if I need to do a spyware scan. I use Avast! for my security now (disabled the windows firewall service,lol)
