Default Upgrading my PC - Up to £250

Hi guys,
Due to the increasingly long time it takes to start my computer, and due to a number of other reasons, I have decided to upgrade my computer.
I do not use my computer for gaming so do not near anything really good, but I really want something fast.
The main thing I am thinking of upgrading is the Motherboard. This would also mean I would have to buy new Memory as my current motherboard uses DDR while my dad has made me aware that all recent motherboards only support DDR2 or DDR3.
My current motherboard is a P5VD1-X. My current Processor is a Pentium D. 2.8Ghz, 800MHz system bus, L2 cache 2mb and CPU 920. I also currently have 2GB of memory and would be looking for at least that much.
My dad took a quick look and thinks these might be good:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131173
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142405
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143290
Adds up to £248.80.
Ebuyer however is probably not the cheapest place...

Please remember I live in the UK, so no US sites please

If you would like any additional information about my motherboard or processor just tell me how to obtain it... I feel I should be far more knowledgeable on the insides of computers...

Thanks.

Well if you do decide to do some PC gaming here's an awesome graphics card at an incredible price:
XFX Geforce 8800 GT only £70.49

Edit: that motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics so you'll need a card anyway. My suggestion is the one above.

Thanks Phil but I already have a graphics card which I am happy with.

I was looking for more whether that Motherboard and Processor are good, if that is a good price for them and where to get them if not.

Mobo and proc are both great choices. Your pc will be a lot faster.

Oh, we are going to America in the summer and are thinking we could get them there for cheaper. Is there any cheap computer shop we could just go to and pick them up in America?
