http://www.aerocool.us/p-peripheral/...e/Infinite.htm The case I might be getting for a new build might have the USB/Front audio ports in a bad spot for me,so I went looking at the Case Controllers on neweeg and found that. The reviews look a little discouraging tho. But besides that, does anyone know of any other similar (external case bay) setups with like a swap bay setup like that, for any harddrives? If I were to get something like that (which I prolly wont),I think it would have a few problems (assuming it works as advertised). 1. Uses laptop IDE drives, which limit capacity, speed and availability of older drives 2.Would be better if they also sold the slot and the enclosure seperately,so you could install the drive bay in multiple computers,or have multiple drives for 1 computer. 3. The front of the enclosure hitting off of front case door (minor issue). Other than that tho, that looks like a pretty interesting add-on for a case |

its not the amount of USB ports, its the fact that IMO,USB slots in the front middle of the case are the most convenient location for flash drives,or hooking up a PSP,for example. I also use a headset and having the audio ports on the front gives me more slack.
I was thinking about using the Drive Swap for...certain files...that would be useful in a HDD I could connect and reconnnect easily. But basically the drive swap is basically just a 'toy' to play with, its not really all THAT useful (lol, unless you installed your OS on it and locked the drive up somewhere so no one could use your computer, muhahaha). I bet that setup really hinders the speed of the drive tho, going from ATA-6 to USB. As for getting another case goes I've seen quite a few cases with the USB/audio ports on the right side (looking at the front of the case) edge of the front panel, which seems like an odd place, since most desks have the location of the tower on the right side of the desk, which in my case,is up against a wall, which really wouldnt work at all :/ |
