I Love my LCD PC monitor but within the last few weeks a 1 pixel wide yellow line straight down the monitor began to show. It would sometimes go away but always end up coming back.
I only had this monitor for like 6 months before hand. And was covered by warranty. (Costed me 70 USA to send it to them tho ><) Anyway what is the avg lifetime I should expect on a LCD anyway. Would like to hear from people who have had them a while.
I have a Samsung LCD TV/Monitor that's been running for a long time every day through the past 9 months, still works flawlessly. I used to have an annoying red stuck pixel but I was able to unstick it by gently tapping the area with the cleaning cloth. Samsung make good quality TVs so I'm guessing and hoping this is going to last a few more years.
one thing is Class of the LCD panel.
Another is the area it is in.....
I've seen a monitor die within a few days, and I've seen them work flawless for years
The manufacturer is View sonic. Got it from Costco out here in Michigan. Warranty covers it for a while so that's good but I hope I don't run into another problem.
Viewsonics are Ok...
I used to sell monitors for PC World, and they can go bad anytime, for no apparent reason....
HP makes some really good ones though...
eh, yea I thought it could be pretty random.
Good thing the warranty setup they do is pretty good.
