Default Urgent, slow internet :(

Right, about a month ago we got our connection upgraded to 8MB, and for a while it was great, but as of late I have been getting horrible speeds off downloads and what not, we're talking about 15-20kbps....

We checked all the computers here, unplugged all but one at a time to see if someone had anything nasty that was slowing it down, but after brining a brand new laptop and testing that it turns out it's not a fault with our computers, so I really have no idea what the problem or solution is, any help would be really great

Seriously, if it isn't your fault then it's theirs, what do you get when you do a speedtest?

Maybe have them send out a technician etc.

On speed test I get 4000 + ie 4MB which is bad, but I can live with it, it's odd, everything seems to go slow, like rapid share premium, and other downloads, ubuntu isos ect ect.

But one site, the debian one downloads isos there at 400+kbps, so wtf is going on?

They also block access to rapidshare at peak times. Yay for corporate censoring.

Wow I never knew BT capped all this...
Lame. I wonder though do they have the same policies here, in Ireland as the UK.

I would assume so. It's still BT regardless of where you are.
