Should be, but it depends on what other components you are using. If you are using a something like a Q6600 and a lot of RAM, I would use at least a 500W PSU, if not more.

EDIT: I see you have your specs in your signature. You should be able to use a 450W PSU (seeing as that is the minimum recommendation by ATI for using that card), but the life of the PSU might be lessened.

I dont think theres any harm in trying it tbh but just try your best to find the power requirements for each of your components and do the math.

Check your other components to see if the overall watts needed can be supplied through a 450W PSU.

Go with a 500 just to be safe.

No, if you're going to get a new PSU you may aswell get a 600-800 watt.

It also depends what kind of 450w psu you have. I used to not listen to people who told me that I needed a good quality psu, so I kept my 500w that came with my case...and then it died on my. Luckily none of my hardware was damaged.

And I agree with eldiablo, if you're getting a new psu get at least a 750w. I would recommend a Corsair or PC Power & Cooling psu.

Oh and one more thing, check how many amps the 4850 needs on the +12v rail, and check how much your current psu has (you should be able to find it somewhere on the psu itself). And if you're going to buy a new psu also take the +12v rail into consideration.
