Default PC wont show anything onscreen

Well, I was in my bios trying to figure out why my PC wouldnt boot from my dvd drive. Then I got it working, turns out I had to set my primary master from my IDE to my DVD drive

Anyway, after setting that and the dvd autobooting, I turned it off while it was still reading the dvd because I didnt know how to exit it. Then I booted my PC, it boots but there is no picture at all. No bios screen, nothing.

Then I plugged my IDE harddrive in and it something flashed up about an IDE error and alot of numbers.

Now i'm stuck, I tried removing my CMOS battery to reset my bios settings but that didnt work, and now im lost for ideas.

remove the cmos battery and unplug the power supply. if that doesnt work then try booting with one hard drive no dvd drive and 1 stick of ram.

I want to give you a very big thank you for replying. Much appreciated. However, that problem is solved and I cant get my dvd drive to boot when my hdd is plugged in. My dvd drive is set as pruimary master and my IDE hdd is set as secondary master but it will only boot the hdd. Not the dvd drive.

By the setting, do you mean the jumpers are set that way? Or are the drives on cable select? Have you tried looking in the BIOS to see if you just need to change the boot order of the drives?

Set the HDD to master and the DVD to slave.

Set your jumpers to cable select. The slave IDE cable is the one branching off the master one.
