Network spikes, how to fix?
I've been having a problem with my internet spiking lately, since the purchase of a new PC, I've become fed up of dying on games because of it so I did some digging, and it appears to be my PC, and not my internet as I suspected (because I went WELL over the download limit).
After running ping -t 192.168.0.1 I get a good constant time of about 1-2 ms, and every so often a massive 1400+ ms ping, this being between my PC and my router tells me its an issue purely with the PC. I've not had time yet to check with any of my laptops, but pre-purchase everything was running fine without any spikes.
I've removed the driver and re-installed it, no fix, I've tried upgrading drivers but theres nothing new.
I've got until Wednesday morning to try and fix the issue before I have a chat with PC World tech support... Dear Lord forgive me for I have sinned, I purchased from PC World :Argh:
Anyway, the PC is running Vista, and the card APPEARS to be a Ralink of some description.
If you need any more info just let me know, I'll also post the ping logs if required.
