Im planning on buying that computer.... now it wont be for gaming but i do need/want it to be faster than my computer thats in use now(xp)... it not for gaming or anything like that but i do work with media alot (editing music, photos, and videos) so in your opinion will this be fast enough... mainly the ram.. iv read a few things that vista uses tons more ram than Xp... so will 4 be enough to be as fast as i wont it?

main things:
Intel® Core*2 Duo Processor E8400 (3.0GHz, 6MB L2 Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
(it will be 64 bit.... whatever that means)

Series Features: 20.1" XBRITE-HiColor* LCD, 4GB pre-installed RAM, 500GB HDD storage, Blu-ray Disc* playback and built-in Bluetooth®

questions:
1) mainly will this be a fast computer? converting videos(formats) decompressing files, etc.

2) i just bought a Imac (returned it) because the internet (Ethernet)... well the software or hardware would load the page super slow. even firefox was slow. but all my setting were correct for my conection and it was slow. now will i have the same problem with vista?

3) any problems i might have?

E8400 is a good cpu, 45nm too. 4GB ram, 500gb hdd (SATA is a plus)...if you like it, I don't see a reason not to go for it. As far as that ethernet problem you were having I don't see it happening on vista.

though will 4 gigs of ram be enough? thats what im worried about... really for converting videos...

4GB is def enough. I've got 2GB, and while more couldn't hurt I'm fine atm.

My brothers only got a 1GB of ram in his computer and thats running vista no problem..

Sooo 4GB should be ample for what your using it for!

I play Crysis on the highest possible settings and ive only got 2 gigs of ram. so i think your ok.
