Default Atheros wifi card help

Well, my sister has a new laptop. I tried to install a driver on here wifi card which is Atheros AR500EG wireless adpater and it didn't work so i re-installed the back up. Every since then it can't pick up my wireless home hub. I have updated the driver via windows but no luck, it still didn't find it. I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing but again nothing. Any ideas on how to get the card working again?

In your BIOS check for an option of wireless or something like that and change it from Last Status or Always Off to Always On

So because i installed this driver, there's a possibility that it changed the driver? Well i checked on how to get the BIOS up on my sister's laptop (It's Acer) & it says CTRL+ALT+ESC. When would i have to press these buttons to bring up the BIOS?

It's possible that your device disabled and your bios is in last status and switch it to Always On.

And yeah try that

My wireless connection does have security, could that be messing it up?

The card could be damaged :/

Double click your card in device manager and see if windows says it's functioning.

If it says its functioning try rolling back the driver.
