Hey guys, ok so as many know in Vista when you put your mouse over a window at the taskbar the window thumbnail pops up, well mine does what XP does where just the text pops up. I reverted my theme to the default and nothing happens, anyone know what to do?

Have you always had it, and it just stopped? or do you want to use it where it wasn't enabled by default? I think it will work if your hardware it up to specs, same as Windows Aero.
Well, to turn it on manually, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Look for "Desktop Windows Manager" Right click it and select "Start". If the "Startup Type" is set to manual, you right click it, go to "Properties" and set startup type as "Automatic". Hopefully this helps.

Go to the Task Manager > Processes and look for dwm.exe
If its running, it could be a bug or it could be a bug with your hardware. If I hover a taskbar icon, the picture appears, then the text appears after a delay. So it might be buggy. Try changing you theme to Windows Classic then back to Aero and see if that does anything. It could be the picture just isn't being made or shown right.

There is nothing wrong with your computer. It is not a bug. You simply have it disabled. To turn it back on, you need to know if you can run Aero. If you can, then right click the start menu, then I think it's properties. The setting is in there.

He said he already said he had it but it stopped, so he must be able to run Aero.

If its an upgrade, it'll be fine. But if you need to do a clean install, which it'll tell you, then you'll have to backup everything you want to save.
Alternatively for a clean install, I think theres an option to install in-place so I'll copy everything to a Windows.Old folder.

Alright sounds good, but one other question, the status icon(beside the mouse when its busy) it spins when I load up my computer for like 10 seconds then it never spins no more is this because I'm on Home basic or a problem with my laptop?
