So I wasn't paying attention and decided to compress the entire C:\ drive on my month-old HP Mini. Unfortunately, the lack of a CD drive makes it so that, despite knowing exactly how to use the XP disc to repair the system and exactly where the disc is, I find myself unable to come up with a solution.
I run a dual-boot system with Ubuntu 9.04, so if anyone knows a way to uncompress the files I need uncompressed from within Ubuntu, that'd be great; otherwise, any other solution (that doesn't involve buying a $50 USB CD drive) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot |

If you have at least a 1GB Flash Drive lying around and another Windows computer somehwere, you can make a bootable USB Installer.
Look around here: Install XP from USB Google "install xp from usb" for more links. What did you do to compress them?
