Transferring Files & Firefox Plugin...

Hey!

I have two questions for you guys, here they are:

1.) How can I transfer files from my crapy laptop without a DVD drive just a CD drive without having to burn them to CD?

2.) Is there a plugin which will allow me to keep a piece of text to C+P whenever I want? Kinda like a permanent visable clipboard...

Some kind of USB flashdrive, an external hard drive, an IDE hard drive in an external enclosure, one of the many upload sites (Yousendit/Megaupload/Etc), networking the two computers together and enabling file sharing, there's lots of ways.
