Hey!

I have just installed linux for the first time (linux ubuntu) and wherever I go there are some little black lines on the screen...

The make me wanna kill my PC, they just flash up all over the place, I dont get them on windows, but when I take a screenshot they aren't there, so it must be my linux, not my screen...

Is this a common problem? If so, any suggestions on fixing it?

Black lines?

Hmm, something is probably wrong with your refresh rate or with your resolution. What kind of monitor do you have?

And also attach your /usr/X11/xorg.conf

I changed the resolution and it works fine now

Great; if you want the higher resolution, try lowering the refresh rate.
