Exclamation TV Shows

Hey!

I get these TV shows once a week as they are released:

Desperate Housewives
Lost
The Simpsons
Joey
Malcolm in the Middle

Now, as you would suspect these files rack up some space on my PC, some of the episodes are 300mb a piece!

So, what do you think I should do?

I was thinking one of these things:

Making multisession DVD's for each show and burning as the ep's come
Wiping linux off my spare 6gb HDD & keeping them on there
Keeping them on my PC
Other

Which do you think?

If other please specify

I say just burn em as raw data cds. This way you can just extract em whenever you want. Besides, dvdr's are kinda expensive. cdr's are alot cheaper

I keep them on my PC, mainly because I have a 200 GB hard drive. I created 6 GB partitions for all four of my OSes. Then, I have a fifth partition formatted as FAT for all my storage. That saves a lot of space for storage (over 150 GB!) and all four of the OSes on my machine can read and write on the FAT filesystem.

If you cant reinstall you OS, I would burn them onto a DVD or compressing them onto a flash memory device. Good luck!

There's a few ways. One is newsgroups but more commonly (and easier) is bittorrent.

Yeah DVD+/-R's have come down in price a lot. I got 100 fro £15 at a computer fair. I recently filled up my 280GB of space with TV shows, films and games. Yes 280GB. I have now burnt of most of my TV onto DVD-R.

That is 2 season's of The O.C., 4 seasons of Scrubs, 4 seasons of Smallville, 1st season of Joey, 16 seasons of the simpsons, 1st season of Hex, 2 seasons of The 4400, 1 season of Battlestar gallactica, 1 season of Stargate Atlantis, 1 season of Numb3rs. And there is more but I can't remember them off the top of my head. Now I have about 130GB free. There is only the latest episodes of Smallville, Joey, Lost, The simpsons and The O.C. on my hard drive under TV. I still have 15GB of music, about 30 films and 15 games installed. And with all this my computer is still relatively quick.

If you think I am the internet's biggest pirate you are mistaken my friend has about 0.75TB (750GB) of stuff on his server and this is where I get most of my films and TV from. You may take into consideration that the downloading is not what people are being sued/arrested/fined for it is uploading. And being as technically I do neither I am fairly safe. I say technically as I'm not downloading from a trackable source when it comes from a directly linked server on a VPN. and I never upload a thing.

No I don't distribute as thats illegal. People get fined in the UK for uploading/sharing. We don't get fined/arrested/sued for downloading so until that happens I will carry on regardless. I know in the states people get arrested for downloading as well as uploading so its more risky. Furthermore you can't ask these sorts of things on the forums. Its against their privacy policy to ask for these things. I would remove your email address from the thread as well. As no doubt some of the more juvenile posters will love to sign you up for some spam mail.

Yeah I got some from Bittorrent but most came from emule it took months to get them all. And yeah definitely have broadband, there isn't any point downloading a thing with dial up any more its just so slow.

If anyone out there still has dial up and uses it a fair bit then I highly suggest upgrading to broadband (work on your parents to get it). if you only use the internet for like an hour a week then don't bother. trust me as soon as you get broadband you will use the internet so much more.
